MUSE & Comic-con!

MUSE & Comic-con!

OMG the Muse show last night was SO AMAZING.

My husband’s never gotten to see one of their arena shows before, and afterwards he was all, “That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.” I was so so so happy to get to show it to him! I knew after their last arena concert they’d knock it out of the park, but this was beyond. It’s the kind of over the top thing you can’t explain to people who weren’t there — so I’ll stop trying. All I can say is they’ve always done rocking shows (even when I used to see them do shows with 2,000 ppl at shitty venues, standing room only) — but their arena show is something beyond

Here’s a picture of the mother ship landing. (Seriously, the entire concert was like having an alien ship overhead either landing or about to take off, or wiping my brain out with endlessly awesome music.)

And here’s a shot from Madness. So so so so so epic. My pictures do not do it justice. It was an Event.
In other news!

I got a professional registration pass for Comic-con yesterday! And my husband’s coming too. He’s already planning out his comic book buying budget — and giving me comic book reading assignments, ha. Yeah, I know and he knows that that is not entirely the point of me/us going, but still, I should be at least a little conversant, and all I’ve really read is Sandman — so he set me up with the entire Invisibles run. He’s also mentioned that if he accidentally kisses Grant Morrison or Warren Ellis I should in no way hold him accountable for his actions.

I just got home from my in-laws, where we crashed post-Muse show last night, so now I have to resleep again during the day some — and then head over to Inklings, a local bookstore where Nightshifted was their book read of the month, and say hi to them :D. (I’m a little nervous about it! Mostly I hang out with other dorky writer-types, ha. It’ll be fine though, I’m sure.) And then I gotta go to work again tonight, to start everything allll over again.

More soon, especially word count on Sekrit Project when I get some free time in a few days :D

2013 resolutions & some bests of 2012 :D

Hey, holy cow, Nightshifted and Moonshifted made some 2012 best of lists! I’m sort of like, “Are you kidding me?” because I know how many books came out last year, ha. I’m pretty thrilled, so here goes :D

Angie-ville says I’m the best new discovery of 2012

Lisa over at Tea & Books puts me in her top 12

& and Melliane over at Between Dreams and Reality is doing a giveaway from her best 2012 list, which I happen to be on.

I’ll be honest, that all feels pretty effing fantastic :D.

In regards to resolutions…who am I kidding? I don’t make resolutions, I make plans ;). (Because I ignore resolutions, *snort*.)

a) Get Deadshifted in on time — I’m at 65k final draft now, so this is gonna happen.

b) Write another book (Bloodshifted? tentative title) in the next six months.

c) Get the world to let me write more books. Or really, pay me for more books, since I’ll be writing them anyways.

My brain’s kind of on fire right now. I like to think a project or two ahead, and I have more books for the Edie Spence series, and I’m hammering out some ideas for another side thing…it all feels really good right now, and I’m looking forward to this new year :D

Deadshifted is done!

I know you guys have just been reading Moonshifted, and Shapeshifted’s not even out yet, but being an author means pulling a reverse Merlin, and always living two books ahead of time in your current series.

And now, Deadshifted’s first draft is all the way done. This draft is also it’s seventh rev, so there’s been some work going on there — but the story is all on the page at long last, and it mostly went where I wanted it, so I think edits will be pretty easy. It just needs a lot of polishy love, something I will be glad to give it, and I’ve got till the end of the year to get it done right. :D

Sorry for anyone that I still owe emails or responses to — I’ve been keeping my head down the past few days trying super hard to get this wrapped up. And now I have to take a nap so I can be well rested for work tonight, heh.

I can’t believe I’m done. I can’t wait to show you all it!

Nightshifted’s sale is almost over!

Some of you all may have seen my amazement on twitter the other day when I announced that Moonshifted’s release was five days a way.

Well, it turns out that I can’t count ;).

And technically it’s only two days away now, but we’re going to pretend that it’s three because I would have liked to have been that organized! :D

Here’s two last awesome reviews of Nightshifted to convince you to get in on the train:

The Redoubtable Pat Rothfuss reviews Nightshifted over on Goodreads.

And the Under the Covers Book Blog reviews Nightshifted

Nightshifted’s ebook sale only lasts for two more days too — via Amazon, B&N, and Kobo — the second Moonshifted goes on sale, the price goes back up!
